Each JLPT level is a Japanese rail network, from the Yamanote to the Shinkansen.
Every station on the map is a real one, written in kanji, kana and romaji, and holds a band of the level's words. Clearing a station stamps it, and the line inks itself as far as you have ridden.
| Network | Level |
|---|---|
| Yamanote Line | N5 |
| Ginza Line | N4 |
| Osaka Loop + Midosuji | N3 |
| Gokaido (five highways) | N2 |
| Shinkansen network | N1 |
- 60% or better clears the station at the Local grade (1 star).
- 80% or better upgrades the ride to Rapid (2 stars).
- 95% or better earns the Limited Express (3 stars). Your best grade is the one kept, so a weaker replay doesn't lower it.
Accuracy counts the whole station
The score counts every word in the station, so a question you never reached counts as wrong, and stopping early won't save your grade. In a normal Words drill only the answers you give are scored.
A station opens once you've cleared any station next to it on the line. Rings open in both directions, and the five highways on the N2 map all start together. Free accounts can ride the first 8 Yamanote stations, and the rest of the ring stays visible but locked.

Milestones pay once, and outside the daily cap
Each milestone above pays once in your account's life, outside the 300 XP daily drill cap. If your plan drops, the map locks again but your stamps stay.
